The Harrison Cultural Community Centre, a tax exempt, 501 (c) 3 non-profit corporation, is located in the oldest standing school building in Lorain, which was built in 1904. The building was slated for demolition when three retired school-teachers stepped in with a vision to provide strong literacy-based and social services programs for needy children and families in Lorain County. The Harrison Cultural Community Centre was the shared vision of Jacqueline Greenhill, Emily Mosely, and the late Mrs. Deloris Warfield. Armed with little more than great passion for kids, in 1992 the three women garnered community support and raised $17,000 to purchase the once neighborhood eyesore.

Harrison Cultural Community Centre is a neighborhood center committed to strengthening self, family, and community by providing a secure afro-centric/multi-cultural environment which offers educational, and recreation and social services for children and their family needs.
